Since about November I began exploring new construction techniques simply through making things I had never made before.
Seen in this shoot, the Lund Dress, Turtleneck, and Deconstructed Kilt all presented learning curves for me. Here I began to solidify my design process and started to include draping as a substantial step in the process. The Winona Pants however (both models), I had previously designed and included in the shoot.
One interesting part about this shoot is the fabric choice. Through a connection with Linda Lundstrom, I was presented with excess Canada Goose shell fabric that was left over from when they moved production out of Canada to China. I used this fabric for the Lund dress and Winona pants (brown). It emphasized the aspect of a dress being considered a utility or outerwear garment. Great for rainy days or outdoor winter activities were u have to roll around and get dirty :)
