Hi, My name is Mika Espinal.
Fashion began as a way for me to care for myself and through sewing, it has become a way for me to care for others and the world around me.
In 2017, I started making garments from existing patterns and began editing them to suit my desires. Now I create garments and accessories from scratch through draping and drafting techniques in my home studio in Toronto.
Over the years I have received many requests to make clothing for people and it’s been a dream to provide them. From my time as a mentee to Linda Lundström, I gained fundamental skills which enable me to go into the production of my Winona Pants in 2020.
Since then, I have enrolled in Toronto Metropolitan University’s fashion design program where my skills are being expanded upon through creative and academic challenges.
Currently and in the future I intend to contribute to a fashion environment that values sustainability and hand crafted garments, where I can combine my skillset with my newly found passion for outdoor activities like cycling and skiing.
